Glee!

Glee, yes, what a marvelous T.V. show that is sweeping the nation. This fabulous show is rapidly filling the T.V. screens and consuming the addicts time every Tuesday night, and often times every night if you are addicted to this fine program via Fox.com/glee.com. Many adults don’t realize the significance and importance of this fine show. Most adults don’t recommend this show to their children and don’t like it when their precious offspring is watching such a magnificence show. This amazing hit T.V. series is not bad or inappropriate; it is a show about regular high school life. Glee is a show about a struggling high school Glee club. This show is exact with its high school drama, you have the “it” couple, the gay kid, the diva, the drama queen, the stuck up snob, the geek. This show shows exactly what it is like being bullied during high school and looking past all of the put downs and singing about it. This show transforms popular songs into even more amazing, harmonic, and superb songs. This show may be considered bad or of the devil, but if this is what they think, the parents have no idea. This show is our lives. It is correct in the ways of high school. This show is amazing! Gleek out!

Me!.....As A Writer

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away…nope. That’s no way to start a fine story such as this one. I think it deserves a better one. Well, I can’t think of another cliché way to start out a story. So I guess, I will just have to start where it all began.

During the summer between my Pre-school and Kindergarten years, my mom slaps a piece of paper down in front of me and tells me to start to write. This is summer! “Why on Earth would I need to learn how to write”, I ask myself, “I could be out in the sun enjoying my friends! This is no time to write!”. Thankfully, my mom starts out small. She tells me to write a “W”, which I guess is the first letter of my name. All I could help but thinking of while I was writing double u, after double u, after double u, is that a double u is two ice cream cones put together. So that did make it more fun, but I still wanted an ice cream cone. After I have learned the letter “W” I begin writing “E”, “S”, “T”, “O”, “N”. After I put those all together, I have my name!

Through Kindergarten and 2nd grade, I began writing the entire Alphabet and a few sight words. “This knowledge will carry you for your entire life”, my teacher used to yell at us, as if we were some incoherent buffoons and didn’t get the message the first hundred times. I enjoyed those years writing short stories. About a dog, my room, and my family it was simple fun.

In 3rd-6th grades I loved to write, I was a nerd. I was reading the Harry Potter books and the Box Car Children Series. I guess you could say that’s where I first started to write my own independent so called books, but you may call them bits and pieces of Weston’s Imagination put on lined paper. I was proud of myself. I wrote a couple little “books”. I loved writing, well I guess you could call it English, I was in the Spelling Bee and was 2nd in the school, I was the 6th grade winner for the American Legion Essay, I loved watching movies and even wanted to become a movie script writer.

As I entered San Rafael Jr. High and Emery High school, I honestly don’t remember really ever writing all that much in my 7th grade Language Arts class. So when I hit Mrs. Cards in 8th and 9th grades, I thought I was about to die. She started throwing Research papers, Poems, 5 Paragraph Essays, and other stuff I didn’t even think of being in that class. But yet, I trudged on and succeeded. When I was in Mrs. Wakefields I was in heaven I loved the class. She was my favorite teacher last year. I even scored 100 percent on the core test.

While I was in 9th grade, I realized that I like writing, with pen, on lined paper, but there has to be other paper or a book underneath it. I like how soft and how easy it was to write with. I remember hating the times when we had to write on a certain subject. To me, it’s hard to take something I am assigned to do and make it me and also want what the teacher is looking for. I like open writing. I like to write about my life, but make it more interesting. I like writing 5 paragraph essays and Research papers. I like having the facts there to help me prove a point; I also like how nicely they flow.

While I am writing, I must have food. I prefer popcorn. It gives me a chance to think things through between each handful. When I am first assigned a paper I don’t get right on it, I am a procrastinator. Please forgive me? Between the time we are assigned it and it’s due, I usually think things through and start taking little notes when something comes to mind that I think would be helpful in my assignment. When I write I have to be somewhere quiet so my mind can just wonder. The only thing I will allow to disrupt the silence is of course, the crunching of the popcorn in my mouth. Then while I am typing it, I must be in a blanket with my laptop on my lap.

The only thing I don’t like about writing is that I am a bad procrastinator. I wait until the very last minute to start it. I also don’t like it when I save all my papers on my Zip Drive and I take it from my home to the school and it decides to not work. Or, when I send it through emails the program decides to not read my Microsoft Word. I personally think that your idea of doing a Blog will be great. I hope other teachers would consider it as well.

Well, I hoped you liked my paper somewhat. It would be bad if it was bad. So please tell me what I need to work on personally. That’s how I learn. Thanks!
